Whether it's a trip to the city or into the wilderness you don't have to travel far from Knoxville to find it! Come explore the region (and beyond) with me, because no matter what day it is, it's always "trip time."
My name is Clayton Hensley (a.k.a. the knoxroadtripper). I am an East Tennessee native who has always loved to travel. Following a 15-year career in the television news business, I found myself writing more and more about travel (and many times getting paid for it). Some writing was for examiner.com as the Knoxville Day Tripper, other times I wrote for the Knoxville News-Sentinel. Eventually as the newspaper business changed and my passion continued I started turning my attention to being the knoxroadtripper.
My hope is that you'll find plenty of ideas for travels to places you hadn't thought of before, or at least get a new perspective on familiar places.
My wife and I have lived in Clinton, TN for more than 20-years and we have two kids, who like to travel with us (most of the time)! My "real" job is working as a communications director for a large church and in what little spare time I have, I like to garden, take lots of pictures, and catch up on all those shows I miss because I'm doing something else.
