When it comes to parades during the Carnival season in New Orleans, Endymion definitely stands out from the rest. In fact, more than a million people line up along the route, some camping out for days to get the perfect spot. With more than 3,000 riders and around three dozen floats, Endymion is quite the spectacle. The largest float is Ponchartrain Beach, which is nine sections long and holds 250 riders. The parade makes its way through the Mid-City section of New Orleans and ends in the Superdome where tens of thousands of people wait for the floats to arrive and the Endymion Extravaganza to start. In 2019, Endymion’s theme was “Wonder Tales of Science Fiction.”
